Care Instructions

To ensure that your TILDA LOU jewelry gives you pleasure for many years, it is important to take care of it in the best way possible.

Plating is a process where a layer of gold is placed on to coat the surface of another metal. Our gold plated jewellery has a thin layer of 18 carat gold on top of sterling silver.

As the jewelry is not 100% solid gold, extra care should be taken to maximize its lifespan. Anything plated will eventually tarnish with time and wear.

Silver can sometimes darken, i.e. become oxidized.

This can be due to the minerals and salts secreted by the body and can be remedied using "Silver dip", a product available from specialist retailers.

Avoid getting any fragrance on your jewelry, putting on your pieces after you've sprayed any perfume to avoid it interacting with the metal.
Do not wear your gold plated jewelry while exercising, swimming or showering.
Wipe your jewelry gently after wearing it with a very soft cloth or cotton ball to remove buildup of dust or dirt.
If possible, keep it stored in a zipper bag away from sun when not wearing to extend its life and reduce premature tarnishing or fading.
